Courses with an S before the name are Synchronous - They include a live lecture/activity component via Elluminate (web conferencing).


Courses with an A before the name are Asynchronous - They include resources/activities for you to use on your own with your children. You can discuss these activities in a threaded discussion, and add your own material.

A fast way to see if the course has enrolment openings and get more details is to click the Summary to the far right of the course titles. It will open a pop up window with the information. If you see a This course allows guest users to enter, it means that course allows visitors. Just click the course title and select the guest option at the sign in screen.

Upcoming Spring Seminars

Study Skills and Concept Mapping mini-sessions/Seminars will be presented in May, July, and August 2008. Watch here for the date and time of the next session to be announced. No enrolment necessary. Just link in at the announced time.

Summer Classes

Biology. Several Modules (11 through 16) from our  2008/9 Apologia Biology class will be presented through the summer begining in June to take advantage of warm weather, hands-on study. These classes will be offered again next summer as a part of the Apologia Biology course that begins February 2009 and runs through next summer until the end of August. Enrolment is now open. Information sessions will be offered in the online classroom throughout this week at the top of each hour from 3pm to 8pm Central. To access the onine classroom click this link about 15 minutes before the session to allow and Java updates to be downloaded before the session begins. LINK TO ONLINE CLASSROOM.

Classes for 2008/9 School Year

Saxon Advanced Mathematics class coming for the fall and spring semesters of the 2008/09 school year. (pre-requisite: Algebra 2. Student will not have had to take the VHSG Algebra 2 to participate. Any Algebra 2 is fine.). Enrolment opens in early August.

Government class coming for the fall semester of 2008. Firm rules of courtesy when discussing candidates will apply. Arkansas students will be able to participate in being pages to the 2009 session of the Arkansas Senate and House with the possibility that there will be paging opportunities in other states as well. Enrolment opens in early August.

Spanish class coming for the fall and spring semesters of the 2008/09 school year. This class is very much still in just the planning phase. We don't have a lot of the details worked out yet. Enrolment opens in early August.


Planning for summer and fall 2008 classes has begun. We are wanting to get more classes up and running for the elementary and middle school ages, so don't give up hope when you see all those high school level classes up there. Make a suggestion of what classes YOU would like to see offered and keep an eye out right here in this block for official new class announcements.

All VHSG classes are offered free of charge to homeschoolers. Live online classes will require a mic/headphone set and some classes will need you to get a text or at-home labgear for the student.
