"Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." - Matt. 7:24-25

Founding Father Benjamin Franklin followed this advice with an intentional plan of building virtue - his 13-week rotation of virtues he would practice over and over in hopes of molding himself closer to the image of God. In Leadership Laboratory 101 we will implement his strategy by studying Christian virtues and the heroes of history who embodied them, with Don Hawkinson "Character for Life." This one-semester course will focus on cultivating essential virtues one must have for leadership - honesty, wisdom, humility and more. We'll also hold each other accountable for living out these virtues and reflecting on our efforts daily. We'll also discuss why it is critical to make these virtues part of your way of life in a world that often conflicts with virtue.

Leadership Laboratory 101 is the first in a series of leadership courses. Later courses will focus on personal management, study skills, community service, teamwork and small-group leadership.
