Course Description: Through this course, we will learn about Modernism and Post-Modernism culture through a number of influential texts in American Literature. Students will learn literary terminology through a study of reading selections that coincide with Modern and Post-Modern American literary periods. We will be working with a variety of reading, writing and grammatical skills which will be important in being successful for future English courses, as well as for use in everyday life. Writing assignments will allow students to develop and improve their writing skills using the MLA format. They will also develop and improve their grammar skills through assigned exercises and activities.
